THE WOUNDED LEADER
Support for leaders at their edge.

You’re a mission-driven leader.
On paper, you’re crushing it.
Inside, you’re falling apart.
You’re holding everything, but who’s holding you?
You’ve learned how to look strong, so no one asks how you really are.
What if you became a leader because, decades ago, someone needed you to be the grown-up in the room…
…and you were eight?
What if you learned to punish yourself so others won’t?
What if achievement was never about awards or impact; in reality, it was an attempt to stay safe.
If keeping busy was how you learned not to feel too much.
You arrive here because you’ve reached an edge,
because a way of being has taken you as far as it can.

Why this Matters
The unconscious patterns running you will eventually run your team and your organisation.
A world shaped by unexamined fear will keep producing the same crises, no matter how advanced our solutions.
But when leaders are willing to examine what’s been driving them, something else becomes possible, not just personally, but collectively.
The very pattern that’s been sabotaging you becomes your medicine. Your unique gift as a leader.

“The wound is the place where the Light enters you.”
– RUMI

The people-pleaser who learned to read the room becomes the authentic leader who creates true psychological safety.
The perfectionist who needed everything polished discovers that the best work comes from embracing rough edges.
The one who ate last learns to nourish themselves and builds cultures where care and contribution no longer compete.
This kind of change doesn’t happen by pushing harder.
It happens when the way you’ve been pushing no longer works,
when the old defences loosen,
when you’ve outgrown that old suit,
and the life you’ve been inhabiting
no longer fits the person you’re becoming.
When you’re at an edge like this, the wound becomes accessible in ways it never was before. The masks begin to crack, and something more honest can begin.
This is the kind of moment where leadership stops being an endurance contest, and a different way of being comes into view.

My Story

I know this pattern because I’ve lived it.
I gave everything to the mission. I ate last. I genuinely believed that’s what good leaders do.
The mission had become my defense mechanism.
The mask became so convincing I forgot what my face looked like.
At some point, I realised I was leading, helping, holding others, without being very connected to myself.
I’m not ‘fixed.’
I’m still on the path.
But I’ve learned this much: the wound doesn’t disappear; but we can change its role, from something that secretly drives oour decisions, to something we can lead with, consciously and cleanly.
This work exists because I needed it.
And maybe you do too.

“Working with Louis was a joy, an honour and a profoundly moving experience. His capacity to hold and model integrity, authenticity and generosity-of-spirit helped to open doors into new ways of seeing and being so that my work life – life in general – became richer and more fluid. He honoured the sacred in us both and held a container of deep wisdom. I’d absolutely recommend him to anyone who wants to move through the transformation point of this moment with full-hearted, strong-hearted grace.”

The Work
This work is for moments when the inner strategies that once carried you are no longer fit for the life or leadership that’s seeking to emerge.
The work is contained, decisive, and depth-oriented.
It’s designed for people at a genuine turning point.
The Wounded Leader Intensive
A one-day, high-touch intervention for leaders at an edge.
This is the core offering.
A focused process designed to interrupt patterns that have become too costly to keep running.
Format
- Preparation
2–3 sessions to understand what’s actually asking for attention,
and why now matters. - The Day
One full day, held in nature or a neutral off-site space.
Psychological depth, embodied work, and carefully held ritual
that can’t happen in an office chair. - Integration
Follow-up sessions to translate insight into how you actually lead, decide, relate, and rest.
You leave with a simple, usable map you can return to
when old patterns resurface,
so this doesn’t become ‘that intense thing you did once.’
This intensive tends to be right for people who can still make good things happen, but no longer want to do it in the same way.
People who are already aware of the patterns shaping their leadership, but have found it hard to interrupt them when it really counts.
Working With Leadership Teams At A Turning Point
Some organisations recognise the need for this work not just personally, but systemically.
When unexamined patterns are held by people in leadership roles,
they shape culture, decision-making, and how responsibility is carried.
I work with mission-driven organisations who sense they are at a turning point.
This typically begins with:
- senior leadership teams
- contained offsites or intensives
- honest, well-held conversations about what’s no longer working
The focus is about creating true psychological safety so that leaders can face what’s real without destabilising the organisation they’re responsible for.

Other Ways I Can Help Your Organisation
I also offer keynotes, workshops, and facilitated sessions
that bring these themes into wider organisational settings,
in ways that are accessible, well-held, and appropriate to scale.
Questioning Your Definition of Success?
Not everyone who finds their way here is wrestling with leadership patterns.
Some are questioning something more fundamental.
If you’ve spent years moving toward a version of success
that was shaped by family, culture, or expectation,
and are starting to wonder whether it was ever really yours,
the Redefining Success Intensive is a one-day, focused space
to step back and look again.
This is about naming whose standards you’ve been living by,
what you’ve been striving for without quite choosing,
and what actually matters when you strip away all that conditioning.
One day.
Deep, honest work on direction, desire, and what you actually want your life to be organised around.
